Clean Coal is a Dirty Lie t-shirt

October 15, 2009 by Jorge Arrieta

clean-coal-dirty-lie-t-shirt-arrietaThere have been many requests for the Clean Coal is a Dirty Lie t-shirt and I have finally printed it! I offered free stencils for anyone to print their own shirt and many of you did, but I thought this would be easier for most of you that are already too busy! The shirt is printed with white ink on the front and back of a nice black t-shirt and only costs $12.99. If you are interested in purchasing 10 or more then send me an email and I will give you a wholesale activist discount. If you want a certain organization or group name on the shirt then let me know and I can print the full design on one side and your information on the other for a discount rate.

Now go see what good people are doing about the impact of coal on communities and the environment like my friend Dave Cooper from The Mountaintop Removal Road Show. Also check out Mountain Justice to learn about current events and actions so that you can get involved and help the people of the Appalachian mountains to save our mountains, streams and forestss.

Go grab a shirt here!

The first person to post a comment that tells me what color the shirt is gets this shirt FREE! This is not a trick question.

My Posters Sold Out - Let’s Cut a Rug!

July 7, 2009 by Jorge Arrieta

My posters for the Jamboree sold out this weekend! As I mentioned in a previous post, some of the money goes back to the Jamboree and $250 will go to Smile Train for surgery needed to give a child a new smile and a new life. Thanks to everyone who purchased one - every time you look at your art there will be a child smiling back at you!

I also want to thank Mary Anne and Jack Barton for organizing and promoting the posters and for making our stay great. I truly recommend the Smithville Jamboree to anyone interested in going to a wonderful small town, meeting the nicest people in the United States and having a good time.

You do not have to take my word for it, just check out the video of my daughter cutting a rug! Goodbye Phillip Glass and hello Flatt and Scruggs!

Smithville Fiddlers’ Jamboree Poster - Portion of Profits for Smile Train!

June 29, 2009 by Jorge Arrieta

smithville-fiddlers-jamboree-poster-artworkI had the honor of creating the Smithville Fiddlers’ Jamboree and Crafts Festival Poster this year. It is a limited edition of 58 screen printed posters celebrating music, crafts and independence!

A portion of the profits go back to the Jamboree and to Smile Train, the world’s largest and most effective cleft charity - they help more children than all similar charities combined. If I sell out of these posters I will donate the $250 needed for surgery to give a desperate child not just a new smile, but a new life. So purchase a poster - these are an inexpensive way to help a child in need and get some art too!

The Smithville Jamboree has grown into a major event, drawing hundreds of musicians and crafts people, as well as an estimated excess of 140,000 spectators from around the world. The Festival also celebrates the Independence Holiday and reminds us of the simple pleasures of gathering together and enjoying the sound of live Appalachian music.  This small southern town is as friendly as it gets and specially invites YOU to come and experience this unforgettable event…they guarantee your toes will be tappin’ in no time! Check out their great website for more information!

I will be there on the 4th - just listen for the cheers because I will be a cloggin’ hoedown fool. O.K. that’s not true, but I will be there. Oh yea, don’t forget about the poster - it is only $25!

Tiananmen Square 1989 Massacre

June 4, 2009 by Jorge Arrieta

tiananmen-square-protest-posters-tankman1Today is the 20th anniversary of man against the machine. Free human spirit instead of government control. Reason and peace rather than ignorance and violence. Unfortunately, all that remains of most of that revolutionary spirit is shrouded by government domination and the desire for more and more products for sale and consumption.

These days most Chinese students have never even heard of what happened in Tiananmen Square in 1989. Do a search in Google at google.cn and you will find no results relating to the massacre - thanks Google for your censorship - money is more important than human rights and the truth for Google. One thing is certain, the government is doing an excellent job of covering up the events while rewriting history and most people are too captivated by bread and circuses.

The anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests says much about the current affairs of China, but one might also want to relect upon what it reveals regarding ones own government and the scarcity of the revolitionary spirit in our own people.

Never pay Tax again!

April 14, 2009 by Jorge Arrieta

tax-exemption-f-off-poster

You probably have not seen this on tv, but I assure you that it is the easiest tax form available. The form is called the F-off exemption. Just attach this to your IRS form or present it when tax is applied. That is it! Although you may get more enjoyment by listing your exemptions like Skip Jones from Nashville, TN. This is what he has informed me works well for him:

“Anytime someone says, ‘The total is this plus tax’ I calmly show them my form and say, ‘F-off pal! I already paid my taxes.’ Works every time.”

These limited edition 5″ x 8″ hand printed cards are only $10.00 each or 3 for $20! I also have limited edition full size serigraphs.

On April 15  there will be a tax and protest against the ridiculous, out-of -control government spending in most large cities in the nation. Some are calling these protests - tax payer tea parties. I will be at the Legislative Plaza in Nashville at 12:00.

So the next time you told to pay taxes remember your form…

Use at your own risk.

World Autism Awareness Day

March 31, 2009 by Jorge Arrieta

autism-awareness-posterApril is Autism Awareness month! On April 2, World Autism Awareness Day will bring the world’s attention to autism, a pervasive disorder that affects tens of millions in all regions of the world. The day also celebrates the unique talents and skills of people with autism and is a day when individuals with autism are warmly welcomed and embraced in community events around the globe.

This is from the World Autism Awareness site: “By bringing together autism organizations all around the world, we will give a voice to the millions of individuals worldwide who are undiagnosed, misunderstood and looking for help. Please join us in our effort to inspire compassion, inclusion and hope.”

What Can YOU Do? Learn about autism. Find out what can be done about it. Now, YOU be that solution!

Download the  8.5″ x 11″ version of my poster for FREE and post around your workplace.

Fined $7000 for Anti-War Posters

March 31, 2009 by Jorge Arrieta

occupation-is-a-crime-activism-posters11This is NOT an April Fools joke. The ANSWER Coalition has been hit with nearly $7,000 in fines for posters announcing the March 21 National March on the Pentagon that have been put up in Washington D.C. This is taken from their site, “The government is trying to effectively eliminate ANSWER’s and any group’s ability to engage in postering for Free Speech…The message is this: If you hand out or put up a poster…you can now expect heavy fines and long court battles that are designed to divert money and resources — or shut you down completely.

Dominique and I created this poster to bring awareness to the criminal occupation that exists around the world and also as a tribute to everyone working for peace and independence — like all those who endorsed the March on the Pentagon!

The First Amendment gives each of us the right to freedom of speech regardless of the medium used. Exercise you freedom!
